Hi folks. This will be my last post in the what to wear series for a while … and it’s just in time for your spring photos. I’ve had a lot of newborn shoots lately, but have a lot of family shoots lined up in the next few months. So I hope this provides you a little bit of inspiration as you’re getting ready! XOXO.

Meet Cole. This little sweetie is another leap day baby. Crazy enough, Cole’s mom and Jacob’s mom are friends and co-workers who just happened to go into labor on the very same day! How fun for these little guys to be birthday buddies! And what a fun birthday it will be. Anywho, Cole has to be one of the smiliest newborns I’ve ever met. He was having some sweet dreams during his session, that’s for sure. How could you not fall in love with this little man?! Here’s a sneak peek …

Meet Jacob. This little cutie is a leap day baby! What a fun birthday he has! He was 11 days old yesterday for his first photo shoot. I sure had to work hard for photos with this little man. He was more into getting snuggled than he was taking pictures. But lucky for both of us, I have a lot of patience and he gave in. 🙂 I’m glad he finally settled down for us because these pics are just too cute! A weekend snuggling with these little newborn babes confirmed that I have the best job ever. Here’s a sneak peek at Jacob’s shoot!

Meet Sachin. He is 2 weeks old. And perfect. Seriously, this little guy couldn’t have been better for his first photo shoot. He was an absolute DREAM to photograph. He was sleepy, happy, and let me move him around as much as I wanted. I love him. I was secretly hoping that this baby in my belly is a little girl, but spending time with this little man today, I think I’ve changed my mind. I think I want another little boy. 🙂 How cute is he?! And his sister too! Their mom and dad have done so well, as these two couldn’t be sweeter if they tried. Here’s a sneak peek at Sachin’s shoot …

Ooooops! I just realized I forgot to post outfit inspiration for February! I do hope you forgive me … pregnancy brain! 🙂 In any case, here’s some inspiration for your next family photo shoot! I’m loving the pops of color. I’m *so* ready for spring. XOXO.

Meet Emma. This little sweetie just celebrated her 4 month birthday. I was lucky enough to spend a little time with her and her parents yesterday for her first Sweet Things photo shoot. Throughout the morning, she gave so many expressions. I love them all, but her adorable little smile is my favorite. We did have to work a little to get them out of her, but she gave us a few. It turns out she has a sweet spot for her Daddy and he always makes her smile. So cute. I had a lot of fun spending time with these three and hope to get to do it again soon! Here’s a sneak peek at her shoot …

After my shoot with Orion at the zoo today, I headed down to the river for a shoot with Cassandra and Cody. These two are about to become parents any day now. Baby Kellen is due in two weeks, so it won’t be long! I’m so glad we were able to get together before his big debut. Doesn’t Cassandra look amazing at 9 months pregnant? She makes it look easy! I better take notes. 🙂 These three will be moving to Oklahoma shortly after Kellen’s birth, so sadly I probably won’t get to meet the little man. I wish you guys the best of luck – with the delivery and the move! Here’s a sneak peek at their shoot …

Meet Orion. Remember this little guy? I took his newborn photos 6 months ago. He was the little man who refused to fall asleep for me (click here). 🙂 He was just a curious little guy … and that hasn’t changed much. Today, we took this little cutie on his first trip to the zoo. It was chilly, but he didn’t mind. He was happy checking out all of the animals! I had so much fun walking around and spending time with his adorable little family. Orion wasn’t too into giving me many smiles, but good thing that he’s so cute that it didn’t matter! Here’s a sneak peek at his trip to the zoo …
I just love this little drool face!

Baby on board!
admin February 13, 2012 4:53 pm Uncategorized
Oh man, I have some sweet little announcements to share with you!!! First and most importantly, for those of you who have worked with me over the last few months, I want to thank you for your patience! I know that blog posts and galleries may have taken slightly longer than usual. I have just not been feeling so hot since, oh, before the holidays! But for good reason … I have a little, tiny human growing inside of my belly! 🙂 That’s right – baby #2 is on the way!
I am super excited, especially now that I’m starting to turn the corner in this pregnancy and feeling somewhat normal again! But this brings along some announcements for Sweet Things as well!
My spring shoots are starting to book up fast. I’m already booking out as far as May, so if you’re looking to book a shoot and hoping to take advantage of the spring blooms, contact me soon! Also, as you can imagine, being pregnant during the summer months, especially with midwestern humidity, is not a day at the beach. I’ve done it once before and it appears I’ll be doing it again. So this means that shoots during mid to late summer will be limited. I am due in August, so will likely stop doing shoots in late July. This will affect early fall shoots as well. Fall is my busiest time of the year, so the timing isn’t all that great. However, I will need some time to recover and bond with my new baby. So I will likely not resume shooting until mid-October. I will, of course, stay active with email & Facebook to keep you all posted, but wanted to give you a heads up. To make up for lost time in the fall, I’ll likely hold multiple mini shoot days, so that you can be sure to get great family photos for your holiday cards!
So if you’re thinking of booking a shoot this spring or summer, contact me very soon! Otherwise, I will be able to refer you to other talented photographers in the area in the event I am unable to book your session!
I’m looking forward to meeting all of the new families that have reached out to me already and to seeing all of the growing families I’ve already worked with! 2012 is shaping up to be another great year!
XO,
Amy

Meet Olivia. She is just shy of her 2 week birthday. And just cute as a button. She started out her session wide-eyed and curious, but it didn’t take her long to get cozy and sleepy for me. She was a champ for her first photo shoot – letting me pose her exactly as I wanted her without even fussing. Phew! Her mom & dad were in awe of their new little sweetie and you can tell they are loving their new role as parents. Here’s a sneak peek at her shoot!
