Meet Annalise. I met this little cutie when she was just over 2 weeks old. She was so teeny and snuggly and I loved every minute of our shoot together. She put up a fight in the beginning and didn’t want to sleep for us, but luckily she gave in and we got some precious shots. Annalise had a “big brother,” Rambo, who wanted in on the action too, so at the end we were able to get a photo of the two of them together. So sweet! This was one adorable little family. Mom & Dad looked fantastic and were clearly so in love with their new little blessing. Here’s a sneak peek at their shoot!

The Olivia Act! {Cincinnati Family Photographer}

Oh my, I am so behind on updating my blog with all of the family sessions I had this fall. I promise to update soon. 🙂 But first I wanted to let you know about a challenge that I’m participating in called The Olivia Act.
The Olivia Act, named after one of the innocent victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, was started by a photographer who wishes to remain anonymous. Olivia’s family had family pictures taken a short time before she was killed. I can only imagine how priceless those precious memories are now to her family.
Upon hearing about this, The Olivia Act was created to challenge photographers to give away a 30 minute photo session to a deserving family. I am choosing to participate in this challenge and would like to give away a session to someone that may not otherwise have the means to get family photos taken.
I need YOU to participate by nominating a deserving family. Please send me an email (amy@sweetthingsphotos.com) with the family’s story and contact information. Please do not post information directly on this blog or on Facebook. The session will take place in the new year and will include a 30 minute shoot as well as a disc with full rights to their images. The session will remain anonymous and will show up in the previews as a regular family shoot. I will be taking nominations through 1/18.
This is my way of helping. My most precious keepsakes are photographs of my children and family. I hope to be able to give this gift of memories to a family who will cherish theirs just the same.
Meet the King family! Oh man. I was so excited to get to photograph these beautiful faces. Lindsay and Ashley are twins that I met living in my freshman dorm at Miami University. These little twinsies then later became my roommates when we all decided to move to NYC after graduation. It has been quite a while since we’ve all been together, so I was thrilled when they told me they would be in town and that they wanted to gift their mom with a photo shoot for her birthday. Lindsay is still a New Yorker, while Ashley now lives in Chicago. Their parents are from Toledo and they all met up for a weekend together at their sister’s home in Cincinnati. Grandma & Grandpa King have made one beautiful family. I had so much fun spending the afternoon with them and meeting the newest members of the family, Kinsey, Shane, and Sam. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend together and everyone made it home safely. Here’s a sneak peek at their shoot!

Miss Lyla is one! It really doesn’t seem like it was that long ago that I took her newborn photos. I can’t believe it’s been a year! Lyla is one busy gal. She started walking at the ripe age of 9 months (!!!) and it seems as though she has been keeping her mommy and daddy on their toes ever since. She definitely gave me a workout! This teeny little thing was so curious and had to check everything out during our play time at the park. I had a lot of fun chasing her around, though. Her mama made the cutest little stats board for her photos, where I learned that she loves to sing the “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” That song came in handy … It managed to keep her still for just enough time to snap a photo of her sweet smile. Meet Cameron. This little guy is 7 months old. Cameron’s mama received a photo shoot as a baby shower gift from some very generous friends. And I am so glad she did! Her little man is just the sweetest little fella. He was all smiles from the moment he got out of the car. The chilly temps today threw him off a bit, but he did so great for our first shoot together. I am just in love with his little grin. Seriously, I cannot handle this lil man! Meet Charlotte. You might have seen this sweet little face on here before. I met up with Charlotte and her family this morning for her 15 month photos. After a week of 80 degree weather, it would figure that it would be 40 degrees for our shoot. Brrrr. Little Miss Charlotte wasn’t too thrilled with the blustery day, but she was a trooper for us. I just love this little lady. I had to wear glasses for quite some time as a kid, so little tikes with glasses have a sweet spot in my heart. It just makes me melt. I’m sorry we dragged you out in the cold this morning, Charlotte. I hope you’ve warmed up by now! Here’s a sneak peek.

Meet Alana. I met up with her and her parents this morning for our first family shoot together. This little cutie is 4 years old and is in pre-k. We spent the morning talking all about what she does at school and everything she has learned so far. She is one smart little lady! We also talked all about her Halloween costume. She’s going as a t-rex and has mastered a really scary “rrrrooooaaarrrr.” It was pretty cute. I hope you have fun this week trick-or-treating, Alana. Hopefully you’ll get LOTS of M&M’s and no Sour Patch Kids at all. 🙂 Here’s a sneak peek at her shoot!

Finley! {Cincinnati Newborn Photographer}

Meet Finley. I met this little sweetie on Sunday, when she was just 11 days old. Fresh & new. I never know how newborn shoots are going to go. Some babies snooze away for the entire shoot, but some want to just check things out, making it difficult to get good photos. But Miss Finley … easy peasy. She must have taken notes from her big sis, Aubry, who was also super sweet and well behaved for the entire shoot. It is pretty clear how much Aubry already loves her “baby little sister.” I am sure they will grow up to be best buds. Here’s a sneak peek at their shoot!

Sullivan! {Cincinnati Children’s Photographer}

Okay, okay … I know I’m supposed to be on maternity leave. But I’m just trying to keep my mind busy until this little guy decides to make his debut. I typically don’t share too many personal photos on my blog, but I wanted to share a recent shoot I did with Sullivan. He just turned two (can’t even believe it … tear) and just loves to play ball. So naturally, I wanted to get some pictures of the little guy on a ball field. I loved how the photos turned out and wanted to share with you!
I would love to get into doing more “themed” sessions like this with YOUR little ones. If you’re interested, just let me know! Whatever your little tikes are into, I am sure we can come up with a fun shoot idea for them!!!
